TFT (Thin Film Transistor) - definition
Thin Film Transistor is a special type of Field Effect Transistor (FET) where transistors are relatively thin relative to the plane of the device. It is mostly used in Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) in order to portray the pixel colors. TFT is mostly found in mobile phone, laptops, computer displays and so on. LCD display that use TFT technology is called “Active matrix display” is comparatively higher in quality than previously introduces “Passive matrix display”.
