Cropping is the practice of deleting a section of a picture during image processing in order to focus on a particular region or to get rid of extraneous elements. The process of cropping a photograph involves removing a section of the image that is outside the cropping region and resizing the remaining component to fit the cropped area.
Cropping is frequently used to enhance an image's composition, get rid of extraneous features, or draw attention to a particular area. A photographer could crop a picture, for instance, to get rid of distracting background details or to draw attention to a subject's face. Cropping is a technique used in video editing to alter the aspect ratio of a film or to eliminate unnecessary portions of a movie.
Image editing programs like Adobe Photoshop, GIMP, or Microsoft Paint can be used for cropping. The user determines the new image's size as well as the cropped region. After removing the undesirable area of the image, the program resizes the remaining area to the required dimensions.
Cropping can be done manually by choosing the region to be cropped using the software tools, or automatically by detecting the most crucial portion of the image and cropping around it using algorithms.
