H.263 - definition

H.263 is a video compression standard, a member of the H.26X family, originally designed for videoconferencing or video telephony applications. It was introduced back in 1996. H.263 is also found on the internet as flash video content (i.e.: YouTube, Google Video, MySpace, etc.). The original version of the RealVideo codec was based on H.263 compression. It was technically the successor of H.262 and H.262.
