Cryptography - definition

Secure communication in the presence of outside parties is practiced through the use of cryptography. It covers methods for concealing information by encoding it in a code or cipher that is indecipherable to anybody without the necessary key. Sensitive information, including passwords, financial transactions, and personal data, is protected using cryptography.
