Quad Core - definition

Quad-core is a type of processor in which four (4) independent CPU cores take place. These four (4) cores can be utilized based on the need and co-operate in all sorts of problems. If all the cores don’t need to be activated at the same time then unnecessary cores can get shut down automatically to save power consumption. For example, the Intel Core i5 processor has both Dual-core and Quad-core variants. The thread number and clock speed also may vary depending on the number of cores. Different cores may have different specifications.
