RAM (Random-Access Memory) - definition

It is a volatile memory type. Initially if something need to be stored temporarily then it get stored inside the RAM, if it need to be permanent then relocated to main storage. If the power supply gets disconnected then all the stored information inside a RAM fades away within a moment. There are several generation of RAM such as DDR2, DDR3, DDR4 etc.
