IP Ratings - definition
IP ratings are developed to determine the effect of foreign material in a device such as dust/water. IP stands for Ingress Protection. It denotes if a device is capable of protect the main system from the foreign materials. The ratings usually are like IP56/IP68/IP32. There are two digits in IP rating, first one is for Solid Materials and second one is for Water. Please read this article to know more about IP ratings.
