POP3 (Post Office Protocol) - definition

Post Office Protocol 3 is the most used protocol to receive emails from internet. POP3 is a standard protocol which has been used to receive emails from server and send to a local server. In POP3, “3” denoted the version of Post Office Protocol. In POP3 client can down any email from the mail server and store for offline purposes. Once it gets downloaded then it gets deleted from the server. Also, there is another protocol named IMAP which stands for Internet Message Access Protocol.
