So, we all know to get access to any account digitally we need the user ID and the password. But what if someone already has these clone credentials, they can get access as well and take advantage of the account right? To eliminate these issues, 2FA is used which combines more than one credential. Such as it could be along with your password there would be another real-time generated OTP (One time password) which is sent to your mobile phone that you carry all the time. Or a security code is transferred over your email. So, without having access to any of them (mobile or email) none can get access to your account and it could be secured properly.

Usually, vendors provide their own OTP or security codes randomly generated right at the time of access, and you shouldn’t share the code at all with other unknown persons.
There are some other modes such as Microsoft Authenticator, using which you can secure your account more easily. Because at the time of logging in it’ll generate a unique ID, if you’re the user then you must have to hold the device by yourself otherwise none can get that code.
