Text messaging (texting) - definition

Text messaging is a feature which allows user to send or receive Text Messages to/from different contacts to/from different carriers. Every kind of feature phone/smart phone/carrier has this feature. A message of maximum 160 can be sent in one (1) text message. Also user can chat by creating groups including multiple recipients. When a message is sent from one phone then the electronic signal gets encoded and transmitted to nearest mobile cell tower from device. Then the tower carries the signal to the carrier SMS Center (SMSC), the SMSC forwards the signal to the nearest cell tower of the recipient and it gets transferred from cell tower to the recipient’s mobile devices and decoded.
