Ad Hoc Network - definition

A wireless network called an Ad Hoc network enables devices to interact with one another directly without the use of a centralized access point or infrastructure. Devices like computers, cellphones, or tablets can connect to one another directly in an ad hoc network to create a temporary network without the need for extra gear.
Ad hoc networks are generally utilized in places like rural locations, disaster regions, or military activities when a standard infrastructure-based network is neither practicable or available. They are frequently used for online multiplayer games or peer-to-peer file sharing. The adaptability and simplicity of ad hoc networks are benefits. They can be set up fast and simply and utilized in a variety of contexts because they don't rely on any centralized infrastructure. Ad hoc networks may, however, have drawbacks, such as poorer bandwidth, a shorter range, and less security than conventional infrastructure-based networks.
