Dual-band - definition

The mobile network works using a specific range of frequencies which are known as bands. These can be various depending on so many factors. In the 2G mobile network, there are several brands such as 900/1800 and 850/1900. Now a device supporting 900/1800 can’t be operated where there are only 850/1900 bands.

Also, Dual-band is one of the most used terms in Wi-Fi as well. In Wi-Fi routers, we’ve seen writing such as 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. That means it can be operated or capable of transmitting or receiving data either in one of these frequencies or both at the same time. This is also known as dual-band.
