Resistive touchscreen - definition

The resistive touch screen is found in older touch screen phones or computer displays. It can be activated by employing pressure on the display panel using fingertips or a stylus. Usually, in a resistive touch screen panel, there are two (2) lines, one is vertical and another one is horizontal. When pressure is employed on a specific portion of the display then it measures the value of the voltage in that specific horizontal and vertical point and detects the location of the force employed on the display panel. This is how resistive touch works.

Few examples of resistive touch screen mobile phones: Nokia 5233, Nokia 5530.
