Introduction and specifications
The competition for the best camera phone keeps growing, and now there’s a new model in the mix: the vivo X100 Ultra. It improves on the already impressive vivo X100 Pro, offering a telephoto camera that is hard to beat, along with some additional features. However, there is one important detail to know.
Unfortunately, the vivo X100 Ultra will only be available in China. This means it will not be sold internationally, and many people outside of China will not be able to get it just like the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. Still, this should not stop us from talking about it, even though this review might be more of an interesting thought than something we can immediately use.

Let's focus on the camera, which is the main highlight of this phone. The 200MP telephoto camera is the most exciting feature. It has a very large sensor, a long focal length, and it can take clear photos even from close distances. What’s not to love about that?
The ultrawide camera has also been improved compared to the Pro version, and there is a better selfie camera as well. It’s easy to forget about the one-inch main camera, but it’s still an important part of the phone and performs very well.
There are some key differences between the X100 Ultra (which is only available in China) and the international X100 Pro. The Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is a more powerful processor compared to the Dimensity 9300 in the Pro version.
Both models offer Dolby Vision support, which improves the display and video quality. The Ultra also has an ultrasonic fingerprint reader (instead of the optical reader in the Pro), and it can resist high-pressure water jets, making it more durable. This means it can survive more tough conditions than the Pro.
One downside is that the Ultra charges a little slower than the Pro. However, an 80W charger is included in the box, along with a matching USB-A cable. For protection, there is a simple silicone case included, which does a good job of protecting the phone without adding too much weight.
